Using music, this workshop will discuss strategies for connecting with students who have special needs. Activities will be tailored for the lesson environment and will include rhythm activities, improvisation techniques, song writing, singing and mindfulness.

The activities explored in this workshop can be applied to various contexts and need not solely apply to students with special needs.

Connecting in Music will be presented by Belinda Thurlow who is Head of Clinic Operations at Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia. She has experience working with children and families in early intervention, children with special needs, children and adults with ASD, youth at risk and children with emotional and behavioural disorders.

Connecting in Music will be held on Sunday 26th November, 2017, from 1.30 to 4.30pm at Oatley Community Hall, 61 Oatley Avenue, Oatley

FEES – $40 MTA & UMTA MEMBERS AND $50 NON-MEMBERS

Fee includes afternoon tea
