Sherry Hsiao is the founder and Artistic Director of the Sydneysider Music Academy and Sherry Music Academy where she is lecturing on Violin & Piano Performance and Chamber Ensemble Program, the Artistic Director of the Harmony Symphony Orchestra, the Director of the String Orchestra at NSW High Schools in Sydney, and the Conductor of Secondo Orchestra at Symphonia Jubilate in Sydney, NSW. Mrs Hsiao previously served as the Director of Strings Orchestras at primary, and secondary schools, catholic colleges and tertiary education networks in Taipei, Taiwan, and as the Director of the 2022 State Music Camp Strings Ensemble in Sydney, Australia.

Mrs Hsiao is also an accomplished violinist and pianist, she has more than 20 years of extensive worldwide professional philharmonic orchestra performance experience. Mrs Hsiao has strong classical music trained background and received her Bachelor of Music from Taipei, Taiwan, and later her Master of Music with honours from State University in the USA, and Mrs Hsiao continued her further conducting and violin studies in Doctor of Musical Arts. Alongside, Mrs Hsiao held her Outstanding Graduate Student Award of Music and was a Music Scholarship Recipient of the School of Music. She still regularly performs with many symphony orchestras around the world.

Additionally, Mrs Hsiao holds major international music educations credits and certificates in the Dalcroze Eurhythmic Methods, the Suzuki Methods, and the Orff Schulwerk pedagogy both in Taiwan and the USA, and she has participated in numerous International and National Music Education Conferences throughout the United States. Mrs Hsiao is also an accomplished music arranger for the steel drum, strings orchestra and chamber ensembles. Her numerous repertoires have been performed throughout the world. Mrs Hsiao has also published a series of violin and Duo books for violin and piano students.

Mrs Hsiao is highly active as a conductor, adjudicator, violinist, pianist, and music arranger. Mrs Hsiao’s teaching and ensembles have consistently earned international recognition and honours, she has received awards and prizes in her music career, including her teaching coursework accredited award from the Taiwan Ministry of Education 2005, and her music contribution from the Georges River Council 2017, as well as the Best Music Teacher 2021 from the Australian Education Enterprise Awards.

Having a rich world-class musical artist stage performance and worldwide teaching experiences, Mrs Hsiao is passionate about sharing her beautiful musical journey. Mrs Hsiao believes that as a music educator and an orchestra musician can work hand in hand. She loves to TAILOR THE LESSONS to each student’s needs, interests, and capabilities for both piano and violin students, such as conforming to ergonomic posture structure and the beautiful sound of musicality skills for student needs, and she hopes to inspire more of the young generation and adult music lovers to achieve their musical dreams and together light up every corner of the world with their love of music.
